MAMSA KIZHI

This is a special type of Pinda Swedam, and there by the Bolus is specially prepared with Ingredients like Mamsa (Flesh), here Swedana or Fomentation is made with the help of this Pottali (Bolus). It is done in such a way that the Bolus is made to have sudden contact over each adjacent part of the body for a fraction of seconds, so that ample heat is transferred to patient’s body. Mamsa Pinda swedam (Mamsa kizhi) is a specialized therapy which is performed for the diseases related to Bones, muscles and nerves and skin nourishment. The Swedana karma or sudation therapy is given by using a bolus which is prepared by the flesh of goat/Sheep/rabbit and processed with medicinal oil along with herbal medicines is called as Mamsa Pinda swedam or Mamsa kizhi.
