DHANYAMLA KIZHI

Dhanyamala Dhara ayurvedic treatment is a special kind of Ayurvedic massage therapy, which includes pouring of medicinal liquid over different body parts. Dhanya and Amla which gives a meaning of fermented cereals other herbal medicine. The word dhara means pouring. In Dhanyamala kizhi, the medicinal powders are to be mixed well and to be tied to make a pottali. This kizhi (pottali) dip into the boiling Dhanyamala. Then the vessel is kept on mandagni. The heat should be mild & constant, sufficient for fermentation. Then Abhyanga must be done for 15 minutes before starting the Dhanyamala Kizhi.
